My Approach

Mind

From the moment we meet, I will listen deeply to you. I will listen to your hopes and desires for your birth and postpartum time and the underlying desires of your hearts. I will help you pursue your ideals wholeheartedly and give you practical tools to increase your chances of bringing those dreams to life. I will also help you find courage and flexibility as you face the unknowns of your journey into parenthood. And I will help you face the fears and obstacles that might hold you back from experiencing those dreams. Whether it is through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, or all the above, I will help you feel seen, heard, and supported every step of the way.

Body

In addition to mental preparation, I will help prepare and support you through the physicality of labor, postpartum healing, and newborn feeding and care. Prenatally, we will practice positions, movement, touch, breath work, and relaxation techniques to discover what works best for you. I will offer your partner the support, information, and confidence needed to participate in a way that feels good to both of you. Depending on your specific needs, I will support you with the tools that are most helpful for you and your specific birth and postpartum time.

Heart

Throughout our work together, I will help you open your courageous hearts, so you can feel the rush (or trickle) of love and joy when you first lay eyes on your beautiful baby. Beginning prenatally, I will help you connect with your baby and expand your capacity to love and take care of your little one. We will connect with the joy and gratitude that you may or may not already feel toward your baby. And we will make ample space to explore your fears about parenthood and build your confidence as you transition into this profound new role and relationship.

What I Believe about Birth

  • I believe in the transforming, empowering, healing, sacred wonders of birth.
  • I believe that babies are a sacred gift.
  • I believe that birth provides an unparalleled opportunity to learn what it means to Love.
  • I believe that womxn are strong.
  • I believe that birthing people deserve competent and compassionate care.
  • I believe that the way we give birth matters.
  • I believe that birth is sometimes unpredictable.
  • I believe that a good birth is one in which birthing parents feel supported and empowered in making their own decisions. This can happen with a smooth, unmedicated home birth, multiple days of labor, an emergency cesarean, and everything in between.
